Miracle Mile

In 1966 the I-10 East Interstate was completed through the Miracle Mile corridor of Tucson, Arizona. Prior to its completion, the Miracle Mile roadway had been the primary entrance into the north end of the city. As such, the corridor was home to a number of motor lodges and rest stops which had now been bypassed. The roadways of the western United States tell the story of its cities and the ways that both the car and passenger are inextricably linked.

To photograph this project, I used images from Google Street View to explore and document the area as it is seen now from the perspective of a traveling car.
